Core Maintenance Services, the specialist provider of mechanical and electrical maintenance services, has secured a three-year contract extension with global talent and advisory firm Odgers, continuing its delivery of integrated maintenance services across the client’s London headquarters and wider UK portfolio.
Operating from a flagship site in central London, Core provides a fully managed service covering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive callouts and statutory compliance across all building services assets.
A partnership built over more than a decade
The relationship between the two organisations dates back to 2012, when Core Maintenance Services supported the initial fit-out of Odgers’ London headquarters — the foundation of a strong working relationship. Following a later period of inconsistent service delivery and multiple contractor changes, Core was re-engaged to stabilise operations, implementing a structured mobilisation programme and introducing a consistent, engineering-led approach to maintenance and compliance.
Since then, the business has managed the site for more than six years. The new three-year extension reflects that track record — continued service performance, and the client confidence that comes from years of dependable delivery rather than a fresh, untested appointment.
Continuity of people, not just contracts
That confidence is rooted in people. When Core M&E Maintenance launched following the demerger from IMMES, the change was one of brand and structure rather than personnel. The same leadership and engineering team who had built the Odgers relationship continued to deliver it — so for Odgers, the day-to-day service, the engineers on site and the accountability behind them stayed the same.
Managing Director Steve Braddick, who led the maintenance business before the demerger and continues to lead it today, has been a constant throughout the relationship. For a client that had already experienced the disruption of changing contractors, that continuity of people was precisely the reassurance that mattered — a relationship that outlasted a change of name because the team behind it did not change.
A phased air conditioning upgrade programme
Alongside the extension, Core Maintenance Services has commenced a phased air conditioning upgrade programme at the London headquarters. Rather than a single disruptive replacement, the works are being delivered in stages, allowing the building to remain fully operational while ageing equipment is progressively renewed.
The programme is designed to improve energy efficiency, system reliability and overall building performance, and forms part of a longer-term asset management strategy. By sequencing the upgrade around the building’s occupancy and aligning it with the existing maintenance regime, Core can reduce both cost and disruption while extending the life of critical plant. It is an approach that treats plant renewal as planned investment rather than reactive expenditure.
Integrated maintenance services across the UK
In addition to supporting the London headquarters, Core Maintenance Services delivers integrated maintenance services across Odgers’ regional locations nationwide, ensuring consistent standards of performance, compliance and reporting wherever the client operates.
That national consistency is underpinned by a transparent, structured approach to contract delivery: detailed asset reviews, clear cost breakdowns and defined service delivery models, supported by robust mobilisation processes and ongoing performance monitoring. It is the same evidence-led method that stabilised the London site, applied consistently across the estate.
“Securing an extension like this reflects the importance of delivering a reliable and consistent service over time. Where clients have experienced challenges, it’s about restoring confidence quickly and maintaining high standards,” said Steve Braddick, Managing Director at Core Maintenance Services. “Our focus is on understanding each site in detail and delivering a transparent, engineering-led service that supports compliance, system performance and long-term asset value.”
A partner for the long term
The Odgers extension demonstrates Core Maintenance Services’ ability to deliver integrated maintenance services that endure — restoring confidence where it had been lost, and sustaining it through years of consistent, engineering-led delivery.
